Growing & Maintenance:

In spring, apply balanced fertilizer according to package directions. Check soil weekly for moisture. Water thoroughly when dry. Adequate water until ground freezes is necessary to sustain plant during winter. Prune down to 6-12" in early spring to promote vigorous growth and flowering. Entire plant will die back nearly to the ground in winter. Carefully remove spent panicles as new blooms are developing at the base. Heavy mulch suggested for winter protection in northern areas.
