Evergreens
Evergreens retain their foliage and color throughout the seasons. Versatile in foliage and form, with needlelike or scalelike foliage, and forms such as upright, pyramidal, or rounded growth habits.
Subtle in nature, evergreens go seemingly unnoticed until the colors of summer fall quiet and their performance begins. Braving wind, rain, snow and freezing temperatures - these strong, steadfast plants , with their frosted berries, exfoliating bark, contrasting color and lovely silhouettes, become reliable hosts of winter. Imagine a winter landscape where the arborvitae are golden and yews are green with a blanket of soft, fluffy white snow perched on the branches. Now you can appreciate the beauty evergreens can bring to your landscape.
Evergreens are excellent foundation plantings, specimens, hedges or screens. Called the sentinels of the landscape, evergreens offer texture, color and shelter to wildlife throughout the seasons.
